SAGT is proud to present the 2025 SAGT Scholarship to senior, Avery Fraser.
Avery has a gift for seeing people that others can't see. She has a passion for finding those who have been ignored or discarded, and works to try to make their lives a little bit better. Her goal is to advocate for those who have been forgotten, for those who feel broken. She has traveled several times to Malawi, and worked to find medical treatment for a girl named Tiyamike. A Bishop from Malawi wrote this in Avery's recommendation, "her greatest gift is her compassion. This student sees our suffering and tries to alleviate it. What this student does takes courage. It takes persistence. It takes an open-mindedness to be willing to consider that you do not have all of the answers...this student is truly a gifted community servant." Avery will attend Baylor University this fall where she plans to study microbiology on a pre-med track. In the future, she plans to live out her belief that, "The world is a better place when we honor the dignity of every person and recognize that we have the ability to make a difference".
Congratulations Avery!
